Support Request: Printing issues

Description

Hello,

We are currently experiencing issues printing certain images within our SiteKiosk kiosk. What we noticed since moving from IE 9 to IE 10 on all of our kiosk machines is that we can no longer right-click on an image we would like to print and select print. This only seems only to happen within the SiteKiosk software. If we close the SiteKiosk software and launch IE 10 with the current user account that is logged in, we are able to log into our Online Banking website, select the Check view image that we would like to print, and right click on the image where we are able to print just that image and that image alone without our account summary in the background.

At first I thought it to be a user issue with the printer settings, so I logged in with an administrator account and went to Start->All Programs->Site Kiosk->System Security Manager and turned Unprotected Mode on. I logged off as my administrator account and logged in as a SiteKiosk user that has access to our domain that is allowed to print to the network printer has been added to the kiosk machine. I logged int and was not able to right-click and print. I made sure to but all the same settings back to the Protected mode under the System Security Manager.

I thought maybe the user needed higher privileges in order to print. I gave the account Power User and Administrator rights but was still unsuccessful at printing what I needed.

I am now looking for some assistance with this issue since our members use this Kiosk to view and print information needed from their accounts.

Thanks,

John Vang

Are you able to replicate the issue with printing with the most currently supported version of SiteKiosk (Version 8.9)? Please note that SiteKiosk 7 is no longer supported and it is advised that you download and install all available updates from Microsoft.

If you are able to replicate the issue with SiteKiosk 8.9 installed:

- Was this working before then suddenly stopped working? If so, what has changed in your environment?
- What is the error you get when trying to print?
- You may select the option to "show output window" under Basic > Logfiles to see whats happening on the backend while printing.

Site Kiosk 8 is free to evaluate and can be downloaded from:

We do have version 8.2 installed on one of our kiosks and I was able to replicate the issue on that machine as well. There is no error message when attempting to right-click on an image to print and as said in my first entry, we were able to perform this function in IE 9 prior to us upgrading to IE 10. I don't believe it to be IE 10 that is causing the issue since I am able to log into our Online banking account using the current user account that is logged in to our Kiosk machine, and can perform the right-click function to print just the image that I'm looking to print. It's only when I launch the SiteKiosk software is where I am not able to perform this function.

I followed your steps to "Show output Window" and found nothing happening in the background as I right-clicked on the image that I wanted to print.

The most currently supported version is SiteKiosk 8.9. Build 2821... Are you able to replicate the issue in this version.

Are you able to print by using the SiteKiosk Print button in the browser bar?

You may also check the option to allow the context menu for HTML elements by checking the box labeled "Enable context menu(Right-clicking HTML elements)" in the configuration wizard under >Browser >Browser Design then click Advanced button.

If the above issue still persists, you may send the configuration file you are testing with to support-us(at)provisio.com and a brief description on how to replicate the issue on our test machines.
