Support Request: Support request

Description

Hello,

How can I create in the start screen, let's say a button with text in caption like the Link button. But when you click on it it will pull you a scrollable dialog box taking almost the whole screen and to be able to put a lot text in it. We tried with local html files, with pdf files but the tittle bar of the browser won't disappear.

If there is a way to get rid of the tittle bar when the browser opens it would be great and won't need the button with poping up dialog box, but couldn't find how to do it.

Any ideas will be great.
Тhanks in advance

Hello,

For this you should have a look at the options at “-->Start Page & Browser-->Customize-->Browser Skin-->Advanced-->Browser Toolbar” where you can show/hide the standard buttons or even the URL address bar of the skin.
Or you activate the “Permanent fullscreen mode” at “-->Start Page & Browser-->Fullscreen” that will hide the complete browser skin so that only the web page content is displayed in the new windows.

Hello Michael,

The problem isn't in the Browser Toolbar, its the windows tittle bar. When you open a browser in the start screen there is the windows tittle bar with the name of the document and the 3 buttons for minimise, maximise and close. We want to remove it somehow. Have tried with "Permanent fullscreen mode". But the browser won't still open in fullscreen it only takes around 80% of the screen.

Regards.

Hello,

The title bar (including the buttons for minimize, maximize and close) is part of the Windows system and cannot be changed by SiteKiosk.

You may check using the “CreateHTMLDialog Method” of the classic the SiteKiosk Object Model to open a window without title bar:
https://www.provisio.com/helpconsole/SiteKiosk%20Object%20Model%20Help/en-US/default.htm?sitekioskui_createhtmldialog_mth.htm

You have several properties available for the window:
https://www.provisio.com/helpconsole/SiteKiosk%20Object%20Model%20Help/en-US/default.htm?skhtmldialog_obj.htm

Here an example how you can use the CreateHTMLDialog Method on the “Start Screen”:
https://devblog.provisio.com/post/2019/07/16/Starting-the-SiteKiosk-File-Manager-from-the-Start-Screen-with-Chrome-Browser-Skin.aspx

Alternatively you may have a look at SiteCaster that provides the possibility to create popups without tittle bar and also a template that looks like the start screen
Templates: https://www.siteremote.net/SiteCasterHelp/en/default.htm?page_templates.htm
Pop-up Element: https://www.siteremote.net/SiteCasterHelp/en/default.htm?linked_document_%28pop-up%291.htm
Furthermore you can change the content remotely then.

You can test everything before purchasing any license:
1. Just create a free 30 days test account on www.siteremote.net

2. Download and install SiteKiosk on your client machine:
- Android: https://www.provisio.com/en-GB/Downloads/Download.aspx?ItemId=185
- Windows: http://www.provisio.com/en-GB/Downloads/Download.aspx?ItemId=1

3. Open the SiteKiosk configuration and first register the SiteKiosk client to your SiteRemote team (Remote Monitoring).

- Windows: http://www.provisio.com/helpconsole/SiteKiosk%20Help/en-US/default.htm?remote_monitoring.htm

To continue with SiteCaster CMS
4. Then activate SiteCaster in the SiteKiosk configuration.

Hello Michael,

Thanks for the fast response. We have tried with “CreateHTMLDialog Method” and it is working awesome. We don't need to get SiteCaster because it's only one time deployment. Only 2 more things are left to be done:

1. Is there a way if you click outside the Dialog window to close the Dialog window.

2. Is there a way the html page to be scrollable only with dragging in the page (we just have plain text in these windows).

Hello Michael,

We have fixed the scrolling with implementing jquery to the html page.
