Support Request: Screen Freezes when trying to open local htm file as homepage

Description

I am evaluating this product and having issues with setup. I am attempting to use a local htm file as the launchpage in google chrome. The screen is frozen at a white lock screen as does not move past this. This page (file) opens fine in Chrome outside the software. Can I get some help with the setup please. I am on the latest version of the software.

Hello,

I have check your configuration and you have chosen "SiteCaster" at "Start Page & Browser". Please switch to Chrome Browser skin and check again.
Generally there is no known issue with opening local html file in SiteKiosk Browser.
You can even choose "C:\Program Files (x86)\SiteKiosk\Html\Startpage\start.htm" for testing.
The Chrome Browser SKin uses a Chromium CEF browser engine installed with SIteKiosk.

I changed and saved the configuration, but the problem persists. I do see a quick screen flash up which may be giving errors of some sort, but it goes away before I can read it. I am then left with the white lock screen that I cannot exit out of.

Hello,

What if creating a new configuration and just configuring the password and start page first?
Is there a difference between "Start once" and "Auto Start" mode?

Otherwise please send the following files and information to support-europe(at)provisio.com
The most current SiteKiosk configuration you use (…/SiteKiosk/Config/YourConfig.skcfg)
The current log file (…/SiteKiosk/Logfiles) with he information at which time the problem occurred
The html file your use
The information which Windows version you use
A step by step description how to reproduce the problem

Then we can check.
You may also check the Windows event log for warnings and errors and if another security application is installed (e.g. Antivirus) that prevents the SIteKiosk startup.

Also note:
On Windows 10 MS RDP and SiteKiosk interfere with each other and SiteKiosk will not start in "Start once" mode. (you only see the Watchdog background when starting SiteKiosk in “Start once” mode).
The only workaround is using another remote desktop application OR activating the “Auto start” mode and only access the machine via RDP again after reboot and SiteKiosk startup.
SiteKiosk 9 will generally kill all explorer processes on Windows 10 when SiteKiosk is started.
This is a security feature to e.g. prevent that you can use any touch gesture to get the side bars on Windows 10.
