Support Request: cannot install latest version

Description

Instead of applying the patch, I downloaded and started installing new version of sitekiosk.
It keeps blocking with the error (see the attach).
I tried deleted the sitekiosk restricted user, but it is the same error.

“Error 1722” is a Windows Installer error code and just means that the installation was not successful
(Error 1722: There is a problem with this Windows Installer Package. A program run as a part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor)

The screenshot just displays a general error message with executing the patcher that is also part of the installer now.
Your virus scanner may find the patcher application suspicious because it accesses the registry and makes changes to the rights of the SiteKiosk user.
Please check.

Then you may remove and recreate the SiteKiosk user before installing SiteKiosk again:
1. quit SiteKiosk completely and log on to the system as an admin user.
2. Open the command line (cmd.exe) and enter the following commands one after the other

cd %SiteKioskPath% (or cd "C:\Program Files (x86)\SiteKiosk")

SystemSecurity /uninstall

3. Check if a directory named "SiteKiosk" still exists under "C:\Users". If so, delete it manually.
4. Go back to the command line and enter the following:

SystemSecurity /install


5. Install SiteKiosk 9.7.5320:

today, I downloaded the latest version and tried to install it, following your instructions.
I get the error 1722... Action ExecuteKBFixPatcher, location: ...\UserAccessPatch

Can you try trough TeamViewer?

Did you already reinstall the SiteKiosk user as advised above?
If not please do so and try again.

If you did already try that please uninstall SiteKiosk and install again the most current version 9.7.5324:

I have 2 kiosks with the similar problem.

First kiosk:
I followed you procedure and failed with the same error.

Second kiosk:
I could not follow you procedure because in cmd I get:
C:\Program Files (x86)\SiteKiosk>SystemSecurity /uninstall
'SystemSecurity' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.

Anyway, I managed to delete folders:
C:\Program Files (x86)\SiteKiosk
C:\users\SiteKiosk

There is no other windows user but administrator.

Both kiosks end up with the same error when I try to install the newest sitekiosk version.

Hello,

the instructions above did not tell you to delete the folder C:\Program Files (x86)\SiteKiosk. On that machine, go to the programs administration of the Windows control panel and repair the existing SiteKiosk installation by clicking on the Change button and then following the instructions on screen. If that was successfull uninstall SiteKiosk on both machines and then run the new installer on both machines.
